Hello from Michigan where I am the Pulliam Fellow this semester at Hillsdale College. This means I am teaching Persuasive Writing to a group of extremely impressive young people. I arrived Sunday afternoon after landing back at home in Florida from Israel late Friday night. It is snowing. I am cold. But I’m already so amazed by what Hillsdale is doing.
Israel is, as always, a place of contradictions. Tel Aviv is alive and full of energy. Jerusalem a little more muted right now. Ramadan had begun the day I arrived and even my most brave Israeli friends and family directed me to avoid the Old City. But I couldn’t. I had prayers I had to make at the wall and I needed to see for myself.
My Jerusalem pictures are here:

The trip took me to the north, to Israel’s border with Lebanon, where 80,000 Israelis have been evacuated in anticipation of an eruption there. And we visited the south, the site of the massacre. We toured Kfar Aza, one of the targeted kibbutzim on October 7th, full of peaceniks who wanted better lives for the Palestinians and were slaughtered anyway, and the site of the Nova Music Festival where teenagers were mowed down for the crime of wanting to dance. It was hard but necessary to see it all.
I wrote up the trip for Fox News. America has to let Israel win this time. Read it here.
More pictures are on my instagram account: Karol in Public.
I was on the Clay&Buck show today talking the Jewish vote and more.
A few weeks ago, I visited the American border with Mexico. That was a difficult trip in a different way. The solutions are there but our leadership is not interested in implementing them. We are encouraging people to come, there’s no two ways about it.
I wrote it up for Fox News: Click here to read.
At the New York Post, I wrote about one of the most obvious policy changes that needs to be made immediately: deport any illegal immigrant who commits a crime. It’s not rocket science.
Also at the Post, I wrote about the push for polyamory (10 NY Times articles on it in the last year!) and how it shouldn’t be controversial to note that getting married (to just the one person) is “better” for you in every way.
For my new subscribers: I host the Karol Markowicz Show twice a week, new episodes on Mondays and Thursdays, and it’s largely a show were I interview public, maybe political, people and largely don’t talk to them about politics. Questions I love to ask include “have you made it?” and “what’s our largest societal problem?” It’s a fun show and I’d love if you subscribe wherever you get your podcasts:

Here are the interviews I’ve done on the Karol Markowicz Show since the last time I’ve sent out a newsletter:
Finally, Stolen Youth, the book I co-authored with Bethany Mandel turned 1 last week and it’s more relevant than ever. Bethany was on my show on the anniversary and we talked about the book launch, THAT clip, and how the hardest times in your life can also be the best. Here’s a snippet:
Thank you, as always, for reading, watching and listening!
